My Story Deserves To Be Told
'Bamboo Adoption in Kenya' National Documentary
Moonlight Initiative is a youth lead sustainability and circular economy consultancy based n Kenya. We were funded last year by the International Bamboo and Rattan organization to create a national documentary on Bamboo adoption in Kenya. In the documentary, we cover different aspects of the Bamboo value chain in creating employment for Kenyans while at the same time mitigating the negative effects of climate change.

L'histoire raconte ma vécue pendant une mission humanitaire et environnementale d une triste réalité d une population entière vivant dans le sud de Madagascar en raison d une sécheresse sévère et de la difficulté de se ressourcer en eau mais également de la mal nutrition appelée également le "kere".

L'élevage des abeilles est ma vie. Suis Apiculteur depuis l'âge de 11 ans jusqu'à présent. Mon père biologique est un apiculteur aussi depuis 1974 jusqu'à présent. La région de l'Ouest Cameroun est une région agricole et très religieuse. étant d'origine de cette région j'ai grandi dans une communauté où on considérait la nature comme un don de DIEU d'où le nom de de la rivière situé près de la maison familiale qui veut dire rivière de DIEU mais avec le temps cette zone a connu les effets négatifs du changement climatique affectant les ressources en eau et l'agriculture affectant de ce la foi des membres de la communauté pensant que dieu nous a abandonné.

The story’s setting is a village in the Menabe region of central-western Madagascar. Affectionately called “the Land of Baobabs”, it is also unfortunately the land of slash-and-burn agriculture. Tahina, an agronomist and forester, believes firmly that soil is the core ingredient of a resilient and sustainable relationship between the local communities and their landscape. He journeys to meet his friend Bendray, a farmer-ranger and together they launch an initiative called “Taniala Regenerative Camp”. This initiative contributes to the regeneration of soils and ecosystems through permaculture design, agroecology, agroforestry and ecological restoration.

This story explores the role Chinelo plays in achieving climate justice in her own right. But, she has to live with the guilt of her actions for a long time. Also, this story highlights steps public office holders can take in ensuring a safe, and conducive environment in their respective communities.

From a very young age at the high school level, I had a strong passion for the environment. This is when I started to volunteer under the United nation school club. I continue to gain relevant experience at environmental projects and through wide-ranging involvement with youth environmental organizations, especially the Tanzania youth biodiversity network.
