Youth Delegations & International Events

Y4N’s focus at international events is all about building the capacity of young people to shape global agendas, contribute their perspectives to policy discussions and narratives, draw connections between local & international spaces, and build strong connections solidarity networks with other youth, front-line organisers, and power-holders.

These high-level spaces are crucial moments in bridging the nature-climate silos, and youth are key stakeholders in the outcomes of the decisions made. We deserve to be at the table! Y4N’s work in international events is by-youth, for-youth, and designed to meaningfully support young people as they learn about, access, and navigate their experiences at the table.

YOUTH SHAPING OUR TOMORROW

Our 9-person global youth delegation went to Dubai for COY18 & COP28. We made waves, weaving connections and ideas, and witnessing the joy, hope & determination of changemakers like us.

We 📣 amplified youth messages and solutions, 🦾 strengthened youth capacity, and 🌱 fostered inclusivity by nurturing our community with other youth and allies.

WE CAN. WE WILL. YOUTH CAN. YOUTH WILL.

Y4N’s first global youth delegation was to New York Climate Week in 2019, and we were thrilled to be back to the 🗽 Big Apple for more during New York Climate Week 2023!

We showed up to promote youth representation, strengthening youth capacity, and fostering inclusivity & community, all (of course) while ensuring nature was meaningfully part of the climate conversation!

Y4N GOES TO COP15

We supported 4 youth to attend COP15 in Montreal, where we advocated for meaningful youth inclusion, rights-based approaches, and explicit connections between nature and climate in the post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework. Our three messages were:

1. No action without nature, youth, or justice
2. We won’t back down, we will be at the table, and we’re stronger together
3. No co-option, no false solutions
