This story follows my journey as a newcomer from Malaysia to Canada, carrying climate grief and rootlessness into lands shaped by colonisation. Through Indigenous teachings and the Newcomer Climate Camp, I discovered that belonging can be a form of climate action. By connecting newcomers with land, history, and each other, Tanah Air explores how solidarity, not assimilation, can reshape our climate futures.
