The Global Biodiversity Framework: A Youth4Nature Perspective

Youth4Nature (Y4N) is pleased to present the illustrated report on the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KM GBF).

This report, with an accompanying summary of portions of the KM GBF includes specific sections related to youth and the nature-climate nexus as well as graphics for social media.

The report and illustrations break down the GBF for our youth community and audience and provide information about the importance of inclusion of youth as well as about the contradictions between Y4N’s Global Youth Statement on nature-based solutions.

We are excited that this report translates technical terms into simple English (plus illustrations!) as well as to other languages (French and Spanish) that will help to educate youth to understand and to reflect on their views on the policy framework and take effective action for biodiversity in the years to come.

It is key for Y4N to translate the framework and ensure that youths understand the post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework, in order to drive nature-related policies from international to local scales for the next ten years.

This report was created for a youth audience! It uses graphic visuals and storytelling tools to highlight key parts of the KM GBF text, such as elements related to the nature-climate nexus and nature-based solutions, that are relevant for youth audiences in their local contexts. It aims to equip youth in their understanding and encourage reflection to inspire effective action for biodiversity.
