Delivering the INUKA Pilot in Kenya between 2022-2024 was a dream come true for our team at Youth4Nature. From co-creation with local partners, to the brilliant scale-up of youth-led NbS initiatives in mangrove, wetland, and dryland ecosystems, to the intergenerational community of practice that is being nurtured still today, the successes of this pilot are clear, deep, and rippling outwards.
We also learned so much from delivering the INUKA Pilot. With such large potential for scaling and replicating, we saw the importance of communicating these learnings. This policy brief aims to highlight and unpack some of the key successes, structural challenges, and opportunities for locally- and youth-led NbS projects that partners, funders, policy-makers, and decision-makers can help to address and bridge.
