Fun Fact: 
Vania was chased by a tiger (her favourite animal)... at a zoo, while volunteering to keep the animals entertained! Yes, there was fence between them.

Vania is working in the German Cooperation Agency (GIZ) in Mexico, contributing to the work of the National Commision of Natural Protected Areas (CONANP) and in a public-private partnership to improve agricultural practices in favour of pollinators. Previously she worked in an NGO developing ecosystem-based adaptation strategies with communities in the Valley of Mexico basin; and in a national government agency with the scientific team of CITES on international trade of endangered species’ issues. She is a biologist with a double MSc in Agroecology and Organic Agriculture. She’s passionate about youth empowerment and collaborates with multiple youth groups at the local, regional and global level.
