Shi Zhou holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Materials Science & Engineering at Nanyang Technological University. Having accumulated a wide range of experience in both corporate sustainability (agriculture supply chain, consumer electronics, water innovation, and transportation), as well as environmental technology research (wastewater treatment, agriculture, and waste management). He is currently a sustainability executive at a multinational company specializing in supply chain, logistics, and transportation, where he worked on regional sustainability matters.

With more than 8 years of experience volunteering in the sustainability space. Shi Zhou started his journey as the president of Temasek Polytechnic Green Interest Group. He subsequently proceeded to take on roles as vice-president of NTU Clean Energy Club, and president of Earthlink NTU, before co-founding and serving as the inaugural chairperson of the Inter-University Environmental Coalition Singapore, a collective network of sustainability student leaders in Singapore.

Outside of school, Shi Zhou served in various organizations locally, regionally, and globally. Previously the chairperson of the United Nations Global Compact Network Singapore (UNGCNS) Youth Organising Committee, Shi Zhou currently serves as the outreach lead of the regional environmental group, the Asian Environmental Youth Network (AEYN). He is also active in the entrepreneurship space, he leads the sustainability function of Flint, a youth-led battery technology startup, as well as ACCESS Sustainability, a sustainable solutions provider focusing on waste management. 

In recognition of his work, Shi Zhou was awarded the Common Purpose 25Under25 Global Legacy Award and the ASEAN Youth Eco-Champion Award in 2023, the Eco-Business Youth A-List Award and the World Cities Summit Young Leader in 2022, the Northeast District Environment Award in 2019 and the HSBC/NYAA Youth Environmental Award in 2017.
