Chrispus Ongom is a passionate International Forester deeply committed to conservation forestry. He holds a Master’s degree in International Forestry from the University of British Columbia, Canada, and a Bachelor of Science in Forestry from Makerere University, Uganda.
He recognises the transboundary nature of natural resources such as forests and strongly advocates for international collaboration in their sustainable management. Chrispus values diverse worldviews and acknowledges the vital role of First Nations and Indigenous communities in conservation. He has demonstrated leadership and youth engagement at the global level, having served as the Executive Secretary of the International Forestry Students’ Association (IFSA) for the 2023/2024 and worked with numerous International organisations.
He is a strong advocate for environmental education and action-oriented conservation. Chrispus has represented youth voices at major international forums, including UNCCD COP16 and UNFCCC COP28. He is also the founder of EcoFreak, a community-based organisation that promotes eco-preneurship and empowers communities to thrive sustainably while minimising their environmental impact.
