Ala is the Managing Director of the Arab Youth Sustainable Development Network, a youth-led network that works to educate and mobilize young people to participate in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals in the MENA Region. Also, he worked as the Environment & Climate Change Program Coordinator at the International Youth Council - Yemen. His work at IYCY has been a privilege to influence more young people in Yemen to protect the environment and empower them in SDGs.

Ala has demonstrated great interest in climate action since his college life as he co-founded “Color Me” a green startup with a vision to make the fashion and clothing industry sustainable and won the award of Company with Best Social Impact in Yemen and the Arab Region for 2019 & 2020 as part of the INJAZ Al-Arab Young Entrepreneurs Competition.

He holds a BBA in Oil and Gas Management from the International University of Technology Twintech. Ala always had a great interest in environmental issues at the local and international levels. He has a broad research interest in sustainable development related topics such as climate change, peace-building, economic development, and education.
