Pop culture and new economies

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this webinar! If you’d like to watch the recording, you can do so here:

When:

  • THURSDAY, OCTOBER 20

  • 2022 | 1-3 PM UTC

  • 3-5 PM CEST | 4-6 PM EEST

Why you should attend:

When we talk about economies, it usually happens in two ways:

  • We talk about "the economy" (please, read it out loud with a deep and solemn voice) as a reality we do not dare to question. It is almost like an act of magic: it is something controlled by powerful sorcerers who hold knowledge of it. We are happy to give up control, as long as jobs, or economic growth, are delivered along the way.

  • We also sometimes talk about the capitalist economy as an inevitable destroying force, or on the contrary, as the only possible way to organise our social needs and have a future. Everything depends on your ideological spectrum or your level of despair with the current biodiversity crises, wars, pandemics, and everything in between.

It is easy to be caught in a mood of "this doesn't concern me" or " the world will absolutely end before the economy changes".

But we are here to bring you the good news

It concerns us, and we have other ways. Join this online session to find out why and how; friendly to most European and Central Asian timezones.

This is a session designed to be light, interactive and exciting. In between aspects of new economies, you can expect to find some Miley Cyrus stuff and even some science fiction recommendations. We do not have an official reason for that - I am just a pop culture aficionada. And after all, we are discussing our futures, which must be a light discussion.

(Ps.: This will be an interactive session with loads of opportunities to participate, co-design the session, interrupt and contribute. For this reason, spots are limited. So run, register, and grab your spot!)

Price

Free of charge! It costs nothing, nada, almost unbelievable for such a neat webinar.
